Your Passionate Guide to Musical Journeys
Music is the red thread that has run throughout Jewel Leigh’s life. Born into a musical family in 1967, she studied communications, public relations, and media performance at Purdue University and supported herself by working at a record store. Her first job out of college was at a radio station, and in 2010, she became on-air talent on classic rock radio.
A Life Shaped by Sound
Jewel Leigh's 30 years of professional experience includes publishing a book, working with media in a public relations capacity, hosting the “Life’s a Beach and Then You Die” podcast, and serving as a DJ on two oldies radio stations-WMCE in Erie, PA and WSRQ in Sarasota, FL. (Referred to collectively as LECOM Radio.)
She is passionate about the music she plays on LECOM Radio and is intensely interested in the stories behind the artists and the songs. Jewel Leigh is also passionate about travel, and as a public relations professional in the tourism industry, she learned the ins and outs of producing quality tourism-related content.

From Airwaves to Musical Adventures
With “Jewel Leigh’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Travel Show,” she combines her two loves—music and travel—to tell the stories of the places that influenced the artists who created the music we all know and love. She’s a strong writer who creates compelling stories that both educate and entertain, but her main goal is to spread a message of love, joy, and understanding through sharing her adventures and love of music.
Merging Travel and Music
She’s travelling to any place that has anything to do with any artist or song that appears on most classic rock playlists. There, she will provide commentary on the location from a travel vlogger’s perspective, and then weave in the story of the artist and/or the song that is being featured. She’ll also conduct interviews when she can get them. This unique approach to music history and travel will appear on YouTube at “Rock Travel Show.”
Connect and Join the Journey
Embrace the adventure and become part of Jewel Leigh's unique musical journey, celebrating the universal language of music that unites us all.
